Q@TN

Q@TN is a joint laboratory dedicated to Quantum Science and Technologies, established through the collaboration of the University of Trento, Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, and the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. By leveraging the expertise and cutting-edge infrastructure of its partner institutions, Q@TN fosters interdisciplinary research, innovation, and technological transfer in the rapidly evolving field of quantum technologies.

Rooted in Trentino with a strong European perspective, Q@TN strengthens synergies between teams with diverse competences, ranging from fundamental quantum science to real-world technological applications. The initiative aims to consolidate international visibility, positioning its researchers at the forefront of European quantum research and enhancing their competitiveness in securing QT Flagship funding. The project activities within the FBK-SD laboratories involve researchers from the MNF and IQO research units.

Key objectives of Q@TN include:

  • Supporting research through inter-team collaborations and recruiting young researchers to build a strong interdisciplinary foundation.
  • Establishing advanced education programs at both the PhD and Master’s levels, as well as lifelong learning opportunities in quantum technologies.
  • Engaging the public by disseminating the potential and impact of quantum technologies.
  • Encouraging collaboration with industry to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technological advancements.

Q@TN is funded by the University of Trento (via the Piano Strategico 2017-2021), the Provincia Autonoma di Trento, and the CARITRO Foundation. Through these efforts, Q@TN aims to play a central role in shaping the future of quantum science and technology on both a regional and European scale.
