Girolamo Tagliapietra
- Researcher Microsystems Technology | MST
Biography
Girolamo Tagliapietra received both his M.S. degree in Science in Information and Communication Engineering and his PhD in Information and Communications Technologies from the University of Trento, Italy, in 2020 and 2024, respectively. Since 2023, he is continuing his studies in the field of the Electronics for Telecommunications as researcher at the Microsystems Technology (MST) Research Unit of FBK. His research areas consist in the design, finite element analysis (FEM) and optimization of electronics components based on Micro-Electromechanical-Systems (MEMS) to be employed in Radio Frequency (RF) front-ends of the current and future telecommunications scenarios. His main interest is directed both towards the development of RF-MEMS switches, phase shifters and attenuators operating at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies and towards their monolithic integration into single and reconfigurable modules for beamforming applications in MIMO systems and antenna arrays.
Expertise
- Design of innovative RF-MEMS device concepts
- Parametric optimization of the electro-mechanical and electromagnetic behavior of designs
- Multi-physic simulation and modeling
- Electrical and spectral characterization of prototype.
