A Leap in single photon detection

FBK advances quantum technology research with the installation of a novel instrument in the Sensors & Devices Center’s spectroscopy labs. This instrument, which has been developed in collaboration with Edinburgh Instruments, will enable the precise study of single-photon light sources.

The newly acquired equipment, funded by the IPCEI ME/CT strategic initiative, will be essential for enhancing our comprehension of the quantum characteristics of color centers in semiconductors and for advancing future technical frameworks focused on sophisticated microelectronics.

An investment that promotes the development of smarter and more efficient devices while enhancing FBK’s position in European research on emerging technologies.
