Leandro Lorenzelli
- Head of Research Unit Microsystems Technology | MST
Biography
Leandro Lorenzelli leads the Microsystems Technology Unit of the Sensors and Devices Centre. His group’s research focuses on micro-technologies for micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), physical and bio-chemical sensors, lab-on-a-chip technology, and biosystems. The application fields are in the biomedical, environmental, and space sectors. Leandro has contributed to the introduction of new enabling technologies in the fields of flexible sensors for robotics, memristive devices for adaptive memory cells, and in-vitro neural interfaces. Currently, his research interests are in the design of devices interfacing 3D neural systems and organoids. He has coordinated several national and international projects in the field of microsystems as the Principal Investigator and authored/edited of more than 100 articles in peer-review specialized publications and four patents. Dr Lorenzelli has served as Associate Editor and Guest Editor for different IEEE and non-IEEE journals and is a committee member of several international conferences.
