Innovative research on pollution and sustainability protagonists of the Trentino Research Award
As part of the Wired Next Fest in Rovereto, the winners of the “Premio Trentino per la Ricerca – Giovani ricercatrici e ricercatori 2024” were awarded. This award, promoted by the Autonomous Province of Trento, is aimed at rewarding the excellence of young female researchers working at local and national research institutes in Trentino. This year’s edition saw a significant participation of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, with eight finalists out of nine. Among the prize-winners were Andrea Gaiardo, from the Materials and Topologies for Sensors and Devices (MTSD) research unit, and Nicolò Di Novo, a post-doc at the University of Trento in collaboration with the MicroSystem Technology (MST) research unit. The young researchers ranked first and second respectively in the physical sciences and engineering category, thanks to their research on monitoring air pollutants and solutions for energy sustainability.
